Sean & Christina’s Engagement | Focus Photography at Distillery Historic District
I can’t say for everybody else but I think the most amazing aspect of falling in love with somebody is, and will always be, finding a best friend in your lover. And with Sean and Christina, this couldn’t be any more true. Sean and Christina met through a mutual friend, and against all odds (with the odds being only four dates), they hit it off. Let us all say: Thank you, Sean and Christina’s mutual friend!
Because of you, I was fortunate enough to document Sean and Christina’s sparkling relationship.
For their photoshoot, they decided to have it at the Distillery Historic District. Christina looked like a Disney princess herself. She wore a white silken dress and a studded leather jacket over it. Okay, maybe she looked more like a punk-rock Disney princess, but beautiful regardless! And Sean looked dashing as well. He wore a white relaxed jacket with a simple tee and black pants.
When I learned more about their love story, it came as a surprise that they didn’t hit it off immediately. Because when I saw them, I practically felt sparks going off around them. Sean and Christina had such good chemistry… anyone would be jealous of them!
All throughout the photoshoot, they didn’t overthink what they wanted to do, or how they ended up looking. Sean and Christina were a goofy pair. They made each other laugh any chance they got, and I was so pleased that I got to capture all of their silly moments together. They kept dancing and pushing each other around.
More than that, I appreciated how they wanted to be as natural and genuine in front of the camera as much as possible.
But, whenever the moment got serious, it seemed like nothing else mattered to Sean and Christina. They only saw each other. And that made the entire situation much more enjoyable, because it only seemed to bring them closer together.
After taking enough pictures of them walking around the district, I decided to take them out on to the docks. The water looked so calm, steady, and clear. And the wind wasn’t too harsh, so we were able to avoid the hassle of their hair flying around everywhere. The day was so beautiful, I couldn’t help but take a picture of them running around while holding hands.
I ran alongside them, but a lot more carefully because I didn’t want the photos to end up looking wonky and blurred. The sunlight reflected from the water and it cascaded over the sides of their faces so perfectly.
I wanted to take advantage of the scenery. As much as it made me nervous to suggest this, Christina was more than willing to do it. I instructed Christina to walk on the rocky platform-like at the dock. She was all smiles, but I was all nerves. Sean was so attentive and careful though. He never let go of her hand.
Sean definitely made it a point that he was going to make sure her safety always came first to him.
And I really do hope that Sean and Christina will never let each other go. At whatever obstacle they encounter, may they always find each other and hold on tightly to everything they stand for! For Sean and Christina, thank you for allowing me to photograph your precious, precious memories.
