Kamil & Jessica | Focus Photography at Whistlebear Golf Club
On the day of their wedding, Kamil and Jessica got ready in separate houses. They started their day early in the morning. I arrived at Kamil’s first to capture him putting on a corsage and a boutonniere on his mom and dad. The flowers looked so lovely and sweet.
And because it was still early, I thought it was perfect to have them be out in the garden for their photoshoot. Much of their flora and fauna were in perfect bloom. The golden sunlight dressed the garden up so charmingly. I didn’t have Kamil and his family do too many poses. As much as possible, they wanted it to be more focused on their guests, and for their pictures to come out natural.
By the time I arrived at Jessica’s, her hair was already in an updo and her makeup was more of a natural glam. She had yet to put on her dress. But even then, she was a stunning bride! Before she wore it, I wanted to have Jessica and her mom have some sort of moment. I instructed the both of them to stand at the foot of the dress and look at the dress fondly.
Afterwards, she finally wore her wedding gown. And whenever she stood in front of her family, they couldn’t help but burst into tears. Understandably so, Jessica glowed more than ever!
While it was a standard to have something blue, old, and borrowed, Jessica was given a pendant instead. Charms were clasped around the golden chain, and it had a picture of hers as well. Before Jessica and her family left for the ceremony, I made sure to snap a picture of them tying the pendant around her bouquet.
Their wedding was held at a local church in the Cambridge area. Guests were already waiting around, ready to see what the bride and groom looked like on their special day. The church was quite exquisite. It was the perfect place I imagined for Kamil and Jessica. Its aesthetics suited their taste.
The ceilings arched up into tips at the center, and all of the windows were stained glass.
Once the ceremony started, a majority of the pews were occupied. And as soon as Jessica walked down the aisle, everybody hushed down. Once Jessica and her parents reached the altar, her father and Kamil shared a little moment together. I documented how they hugged each other, and how proud Jessica’s father looked to be welcoming Kamil into their family as a son-in-law.
And as the priest said, “You may kiss the bride,” all of the guests were clapping for them. Once all the vows and processes were done and out of the way, Kamil and Jessica walked down together as husband and wife. Their guests were cheering and clapping for them, while taking pictures on their mobile phones.
“You may kiss the bride,” the priest finally said, and everybody was clapping happily for the newlyweds. To end the ceremony, Kamil and Jessica walked back together. But this time, as husband and wife. I made sure to walk ahead of them, careful not to block the natural light and create shadows as I took pictures of Kamil and Jessica.
I switched from angle to angle as they walked down the aisle. And right when Kamil dipped Jessica for a quick kiss, I was able to get the picture where everybody was looking back at them and smiling so widely.
As soon as everybody else left for the reception, Kamil and Jessica wanted to take a few pictures at the church with their family. We opted to do formal pictures instead since it was late in the afternoon already. I positioned each of them to stand on the stairs and smile next to each other, switching them out to have enough pictures as a group, trio, and duo.
Then, at Whistlebear Golf Club, everything looked so fancy and chic. Instead of having the usual program, Kamil and Jessica wanted it to be more chill and focused on it being a day to celebrate with all the people they love. And so, the night ended with lots of partying! Everybody let loose on the dance floor. I couldn’t help but bop along with everyone.
To say the least, it was an amazing day for Kamil and Jessica. There was so much love and so much friendship going around. And isn’t that the perfect way to spend your wedding day? Kamil and Jessica, the both of you were so beautiful and amazing! Thank you for having me, and for allowing me to share every wonderful part of your journey together.
