Situated at 735 Queen Street East in Riverside, Toronto, The Opera House has been a prominent fixture since its inception in 1909 as the La Plaza Theatre, an Edwardian vaudeville stage. Evolving from its origins as a cinema, the venue underwent a significant transformation in 1989, emerging as the renowned Opera House. Retaining the architectural charm of its vaudeville theatre roots, The Opera House boasts classic features such as the original 35-foot proscenium arch, now illuminated to enhance its elegance for every event. Over the past 30 years, the venue has seamlessly blended its historic allure with modern adaptations, ensuring its relevance in the contemporary entertainment landscape.
With its main floor adorned by a grand lobby, three bars, and a magnificent 900 sq. ft. stage equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, The Opera House offers a captivating setting for various events.
