How Much Does The Average Elopement Cost?

Elopements can be of any size, style, and, of course, price range. There is undoubtedly no one ideal way to have an elopement, especially with the variety of locations, entertainment options, photo ops, and sightseeing that may be incorporated into the celebration.

However, if you’re thinking about eloping, you might be curious about how much an elopement typically costs. Is it the same as a conventional wedding, or are there ways to save money?

This is one of the best things about eloping, and it’s also one of the reasons that more and more couples are starting to choose it over other options. When comparing the average cost of an elopement to the average cost of a more traditional wedding ceremony, it can be said that the cost of an elopement is often relatively low.

The average cost of a traditional wedding in the US is roughly $30,000. This is a substantial sum. We don’t really give it much thought because we’re so used to expensive weddings, but the expenses may definitely make things less enjoyable.

Stress brought on by wedding expenses is a very common occurrence. Sometimes, solely to cover the cost of the wedding, couples would even take out personal loans.

Considered critically, this is a little absurd. Getting into debt just for your wedding seems like a sure way to have problems and annoyances in your marriage in the future.

Even more affordable marriages can cost well over $15,000. Simply put, paying for meals for several guests, décor, photography, and all the other services and components that go into a traditional wedding is very expensive.

Elopements Focus on What’s Important!

You’ll save money by forgoing 100–300 invitations to friends and relatives, purchasing doilies and flowers worth thousands of dollars, and purchasing the most costly wedding gown available.

Elopements typically cost less than regular weddings since many unnecessary expenses are eliminated. Until you receive the final bill for a wedding, you are unaware of how much everything adds up to.

Most elopements cost money for a plane ticket, one or more hotel rooms, a marriage license and officiant, photos, and any activities or trips that were planned.

There are minor variations, but for the most part, this is what you should consider while planning your elopement’s budget.

This is quite easy compared to what most conventional weddings require.

So that you have a better sense of what goes into an average elopement and how much it actually costs, we’ll go into greater detail about some of these expenses.

Travel and Lodging
The funds will be used for this. The main expenses included in the majority of elopement packages are the airfare and any accommodations you choose, like a hotel.

Travel is nearly always involved in elopements. Traveling to a romantic place is almost a given, since it brings together the best parts of a wedding and honeymoon.

It’s not always necessary to dress up. Perhaps you and your significant other have a favorite or long-dreamed-of destination that is simply out of state. When you can find package discounts, lodging for elopements can cost as little as a couple thousand dollars.

Of course, this is significantly less expensive than the cuisine and décor of a wedding hall.

Most elopement couples stay at hotels, and whether you are traveling alone or with friends and family, you can generally find a great place at whatever resort or area you are staying at, and the fees won’t be too high. In fact, if you take the time to shop around and hunt for discounts, you’re likely to drastically reduce your expenses and have a fantastic time.

Consider Photography Elopement Packages

Elopements don’t skimp on photographs, just like any wedding. Many elopement planners go to great lengths to make sure that high-quality photography is their top concern because this kind of photography can make or break a wedding.

Good photographers are typically one of the larger expenses of any elopement since they can capture the best moments of the ceremony and bring out the love that the couples have for one another in every shot.

Elopement Packages can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, depending on their size and duration. Obviously, it is far less expensive than traditional wedding photography due to the complexity of the majority of current weddings.

Entertainment and Adventure

Without some enjoyment, what’s the point of eloping?

Most of the extra costs for an elopement are usually related to entertainment, food, tours, and other travel-related costs.

You might assume that this adds up, but if you choose the right vacation or elopement package, you can cram a lot of romance and adventure into one week for only a few thousand dollars or less. All you need to do is know where to look and be frugal with your spending.

Many cities provide really nice couple packages for activities and sightseeing, including New Orleans. You won’t be let down if you’re hoping for a jam-packed week filled with experiences you’ll never forget.

For less than it typically costs to decorate a wedding venue, you could visit world-class museums, enjoy a picnic lunch in a lovely park, go snorkeling, take a ferry ride, eat at the best restaurants in town every night, and still have money left over for late-night room service.

The True Cost of Eloping!

Only about $2000-$5000, depending on location and destination!

You might be perplexed as to how it is even feasible, but many couples who elope prioritize romance over style and flare.

Most of the cost of an elopement package goes to the hotel stay and professional photography, which usually costs between $2,000 and $5,000.

You won’t be breaking the bank at all for your elopement, unless you want to splurge on a pricey bridal gown or a cake the size of a car.

Quite the opposite. Eloping is sometimes viewed as an investment by many couples.
