Our Toronto photographer was again honoured to be invited to do Lara and Mark’s Muskoka wedding photography session.
Mark grew up in Muskoka making this location a more sentimental one. Lara stayed at her cottage the day before the wedding. It was forty minutes away from the resort where the bride and her bridesmaids got ready. The resort was called Windermere House. Windermere House overlooks Lake Rosseau and is surrounded by lush green forestry. Oliver and Benacini, partners of Windermere House and owners of many famous restaurants, Auberge du Pommier being one of them, describes the resort as combining the “charm and enchanting ambiance of cottage country, with chef-driven kitchens and a top-notch service team.”
Indeed, we were able to witness the awe-inspiring view from the resort. All the travelling required the wedding party to use a boat to cross the river. This made the experience certainly different and more memorable. This Muskoka wedding photography session was serene and had a ‘homey’ feel to it. All of Mark and Lara’s close friends and family were able to witness such a wonderful and loving union.
After the ceremony at St. John’s Church, we went back to Windermere House for a photo session and for the reception. We were able to take quite a few photographs of the happy couple. We even snagged a small boat to use as a prop for the couple to sit in. We used the lake as a backdrop which added to the Muskoka wedding feel. The wedding party was also more than welcome to join in, and gladly posed in the various locations within the resort that we suggested.
The reception itself was lively and we can vouch for the quality and taste of the food served. The food was well presented and tasted heavenly. We were glad we became part of such an absolute union. And to top off the night, both Lara and Mark gracefully danced the night away.
