Vanessa & Roberto’s Wedding Day | Focus Photography at The Royal Ambassador

I don’t know how many times I have said this, but Vanessa was the perfect bride. Every time I saw her, there was something in my brain that just clicked. And right before I entered their home bright and early, there was this feeling in my stomach that I just knew that that day was going to be beyond anybody’s wildest dreams.

Immediately, I was greeted with a lively atmosphere. In the kitchen, Roberto and his groomsmen were in the kitchen, curating snacks and cocktails for his lovely bride and her just as lovely bridesmaids. Yes, get yourself a man who always finds the time to cook for you, even on your wedding day, ladies!

While Vanessa was still in the make-up chair, I decided to take pictures of their invitations, vows, along with her jewelry and perfume. I set it up on one of their bedside tables, and re-shuffling the arrangement when I found it to be necessary.

The bedroom was filled with so much excited chatter, accompanied by the heated wind blasting from the blowdryer. And from downstairs, I could hear the groom and his loved ones cracking open bottles of beer and laughing with each other.

It felt so easy to move in, and I felt like I was in no rush to be taking all these kinds of pictures for the sake of taking pictures. Instead, everything felt so light and casual, as if I was merely a guest capturing moments on my phone.

Once Vanessa was done with her bridal glam, she and her bridesmaids were ready to do a quick photoshoot. They all had on these silken pajama sets. And Vanessa brought out her trusty heart-shaped sunglasses, the ones she used for her engagement photoshoot. I was happy that it made a comeback on her wedding day as well.

All of her bridesmaids were so nice, and they were so supportive with the bride. Whatever Vanessa requested, they were more than ready to step up. As they were posing on the bed, I suggested that Vanessa lie down on her side while the bridesmaids fanned her with these gigantic feathers. It was such a humorous picture that I thought really paired well with the mood of her engagement photoshoot.

Right after, I knocked on the door where Roberto and his groomsmen were, and they all looked dashing. They were still half-dressed but I already knew that Roberto was going to make a cool and stylish husband. While Roberto was being assisted with his bow tie, his groomsmen kept joking around and posing like they were on Titanic.

Vanessa and Roberto had already planned on driving to their wedding venue together. Like a gentleman, he made sure that Vanessa was seated properly inside and snuck a quick kiss before he shut the door. That moment absolutely swept me away! Even behind my camera, anybody could’ve spotted how in love these two were from miles away. Vanessa and Roberto were a perfect fit.

And as they gazed so fondly into each other’s eyes throughout the entire ceremony, my camera was permanently glued on to them. I couldn’t bear to look away from them. Their love was so beautiful, even more so in pictures, and I just felt so lucky to be able to photograph such a momentous day.

Having been a photographer for so many years now, I have developed an eye for spotting and finding a love so wonderful and joyous like this. And so whenever I come across it, I become so immersed in it, and eventually, I get so inspired that it helps me to produce some of my best work. And I only hope that my gift is able to invoke so much emotion and sentimentality from all who see my pictures.
