Mai & David | Shangri-la Banquet Wedding Photos
Mai and David are a beautiful couple who had a wedding day full of love, laughter and celebrating.
The day started with a traditional Vietnamese ceremony and the groom and his side of the bridal party arrived for the traditional wedding ceremony. They were joined by family and friends, including gorgeous kids who were part of the celebrations and they were also dressed in traditional clothing.
Mai looked so gorgeous as she waited upstairs with her mother. Her traditional red dress was exquisite. She wore a beautiful red ao dai and crystal jewelry. The groom’s side presented flowers, food and gifts. The offerings were gratefully accepted and David was permitted to greet his lovely bride.
The viet wedding ceremony included the ring exchange, candle ritual and prayers to ancestors in front of the family altar. The couple was formally joined together as man and wife during the touching and emotional ceremony.
Mai’s dress was quite amazing with crystal rhinestones adorning her dress in a sweetheart neckline and meters of lace for the Western look. Her bridesmaids helped her get ready then we went to Edwards Gardens for a photoshoot. The Toronto botanical gardens are wonderful for wedding photography. We captured lovely images of the couple and gorgeous shots of the bridal party members in the gardens. The rustic bridge is perfect for those big group shots. This group of people was quite glamorous looking and the photos turned out so dreamy and romantic.
The Shangri-la Convention Centre in Markham was the venue for the reception and it was a grand affair. Purple uplighting created a luxurious mood and the tables were decorated with luxury linens and flowers. Guests were treated to wedding favors in little white boxes as they found their seats.
A large floral backdrop was designed for group photos and matched the evening’s lilac color theme. The scene was set for a great party as the bridal party entered the reception, followed by the newlyweds. David picked Mai up and spun her around the dance floor and everyone clapped to welcome them.
Speeches were enjoyed by the couple and their wedding guests, as many memories fond were shared. Then the couple popped some champagne and cut the beautiful cake. The wedding cake was a work of food art with a floral design covering all four tiers.
The first dance was spectacular and the couple showed off their dance moves surrounded by a cloud of dry ice, giving a moody, romantic vibe to their song. The fantastic food and drink was yet another highlight of the wedding, as was the dancing. This group kept your Toronto wedding photographer on his toes with their long bursts of dancing all night long.
