Victoria And Mark’s Wedding In Barrie
When Victoria and Mark were announced man and wife, they gave each other a huge high five before kissing. Every wedding is different and we love these charming and unexpected moments that unfold.
The couple got ready in separate suites at the Four Points by Sheraton Barrie. Victoria’s dream wedding dress was strapless, sheer and elegant. Her make-up was striking and she wore her hair in loose waves with a stunning crystal headpiece. Mark looked smart in a modern dark blue suit with a burgundy tie.
When the couple saw each other for the first time, it was a wonderful moment. Excited and giddy with anticipation, they kissed and held each other closely.
The couple met at a bar through their mutual friend, who was the officiant and emcee for the wedding.
Victoria says the proposal was a huge surprise that she didn’t see coming.
“Mark pretended to be trying on new clothes for a wedding and called me into the room to see how it looked. When I opened the door, he had the ring out and was down on one knee. I was so shocked. I screamed no and slammed the door. I quickly went back in to say yes though.”
The ceremony and reception were at the Maclaren Art Centre. The couple, who live in Alberta, decided to travel back to their hometown of Ontario for the wedding because most of their friends and family live there.
The ceremony was elegant with a backdrop of white draping and softly lit fairy lights and rustic flower stands framing the couple. The winter florals with greenery and pops of burgundy matched perfectly with everyone’s bridal outfits.
It was an emotional ceremony for everyone and the couple had to stop several times to gain composure. Their friend was an excellent officiant. It is always lovely when a friend or family member can conduct the ceremony because it adds a depth of intimacy to the proceedings. He announced the couple as Mr and Mrs Nobel then that epic high five happened. It was so natural and fun-loving and was followed by lots of kissing. A ceremony that was exactly how it was meant to be.
The reception was decorated with gold dinnerware, candles and burgundy linens following the wedding day’s elegant theme.
Warm and happy speeches, including a very entertaining one by a very young groomsman, Victoria’s brother, who said he was greatly honored and proud to have Mark as a brother-in-law. Your Toronto wedding videographer thought this was one of the best speeches of the year.
The group dined on fine food and wine, danced and enjoyed every joyful moment spent together celebrating Victoria and Mark’s new chapter as a married couple. It was a great day and we wish the couple all the best for their future together.
