Meet Jenny and Xiang, the loveliest couple you could hope to know, who crossed paths and became each other’s destiny. Then they got married and the wedding was amazing.
The day of love and laughter began with a traditional Chinese ceremony. As part of the wedding crashing games, Xiang had to get past many obstacles to reach his bride, who was in the upstairs bedroom. Jenny’s detailed headpiece was as beautiful as her red Qun Kwa and her mother looked glamorous in a sparkly silver dress.
Finally, Xiang burst into the room to greet his bride and declare his love. He slipped on her red satin heels for her and carried her downstairs for the tea ceremony.
The bridesmaids passed hot tea to the kneeling couple to pass to family members to show respect and they, in turn, gave their blessings with meaningful words and gifts.
We could tell the couple has a love of balloons as the bridal party all arriving holding colorful balloons and there were giant bride and bride-shaped balloons in the living room. Meanwhile, Xiang was back in the room, having her hair and makeup done for her second look of the day. Another stunning gold headpiece matched her gorgeous beaded bridal gown. Sparkly heels and crystal jewelry completed her bridal ensemble.
The bride greeted the groom under a decoration of more balloons that someone had put up when we weren’t looking and it was time to go to the waterfront for some summery bridal portraits. This was near the Hamilton Waterfront Banquet, which was the venue for the Western ceremony and evening reception.
Jenny carried a bouquet of deep red and purple flowers mixed with lighter shades of pink and white roses. It was a very feminine posy for a beautiful bride. All the florals at the ceremony matched her bouquet. The ocean views from the altar were ultimate wedding backdrop. The huge windows let in plenty of natural light. There were many pretty decor details like a welcome sign on a mirror with calligraphy, a guest book table, gold bird cage decorations and framed prints.
A cellist played as Jenny walked down the aisle and Xiang looked in admiration at his wife-to-be. They exchanged their vows and wedding rings in a symbolic and moving ceremony, then kissed as soon as they were announced as married.
Any Hamilton wedding photographer will agree this venue is lovely for outdoor wedding photography. Our couple was totally up for walking out on the rocks. It was a bit of an effort but worth the epic results.
While we were taking adorable couple photos, the Hamilton Waterfront Banquet staff were quickly transforming the ceremony scene into the reception area. Tall gold candle holders, masses of flowers, lux charger plates and the most darling sweet wedding cake decorated with roses and gold fleck filled the room.
Jenny changed into her third look for the day, a red and gold evening gown with tiara, and the guests warmly welcomed the newlyweds to the reception. All enjoyed speeches at sunset, beautiful food, surprise solo performances and lots of dancing and fine wine. Jenny’s last look of the day was a flirty and fun short dress perfect for the hours of dancing ahead.
