Anthea & Vithuson’s Wedding | Jewel Event Centre
It’s always exciting to document both a Hindu and Catholic wedding. You never know what to expect, but we allotted two days of photoshoots. Anthea advised me to enjoy as much as I could because it was going to be stressful for me. And while it was overwhelming at first, I enjoyed it a lot more, actually.
When Vithuson proposed to Anthea, they shared that it was a long-term proposal. I wasn’t too sure how far Vithuson planned it out, but if it were me, I knew I wouldn’t have been able to keep it a secret. And for Hinge, you did something right! You made one hell of a soulmate between these two.
For their first ceremony, they cherished their Hindu traditions. Only their family was invited. It was such a beautiful ceremony. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from them, not even for a single second. Thankfully, I was still in the right state of mind to keep taking pictures of the sacred rituals they performed.
Honestly, it felt like seeing everything for the first time again. Their family was dressed so exquisitely in pink. Anthea had on a gorgeous, bright saree. She stood out from everybody else. When she walked down that aisle, and her bridesmaids and family followed closely behind her, I felt like crying honestly.
I didn’t know why but it was such a cathartic experience. The ceremony itself felt so grand, but so intimate as well. It was truly a blessing to witness them value the sacredness of their rituals, and their union as husband and wife. I tried my best to document everything the way it felt like standing at the center of it all.
We did a mini-photoshoot outside with a gazebo, and we agreed that the main focus of this should be them as a couple, and their love for each other. Anthea came out wearing a fiery red saree with gold trimmings. And Vithuson contrasted her colors with a more mellowed ensemble of white and gold. But together, they looked so beautiful.
They were the perfect pair. My favorite picture of them was of Anthea dancing and Vithuson watching her from the side. He had such a huge smile on his face. It felt so easy taking pictures of them. They really guided each other, and they never let each other go.
Their reception was held at the Jewel Event Center. It had a completely different vibe from their Hindu wedding. But the one aspect they were consistent with? The people. Everybody was so loud and welcoming. They were practically beaming with happiness. All throughout the program, they were dancing, laughing, and cheering.
When Anthea and Vithuson made their grand entrance, they surprised everyone with a quick wardrobe change. And when I thought the energy was already hyped enough, the crowd got even louder! Anthea and Vithuson did this whole dance number. It was a moment filled with pure joy, and one I knew they’d want to remember long after the day had passed.
Weddings always seem to fly by in the blink of an eye, which is why capturing these little bursts of happiness feels so important. Being trusted to document Anthea and Vithuson’s celebration was such an honor. I loved not only preserving their memories but also experiencing their culture and seeing how they complemented each other throughout the day.
Anthea and Vithuson, your love is inspiring. Thank you for letting me witness it up close and for allowing me to share your story. I don’t think I could ever forget their wedding day.
